Denarau is a gated complex of upmarket resorts and not really an ‘island’, but joined to the mainland and accessible along a 50m-long causeway. About 7km from downtown Nadi and 14km from the airport it allows easy access to Port Denarau Marina, the resort’s prime location as a gateway to discovering the famous Manauca and Yawawa Islands.
Food and Amenities:
Kitchen Grill, a contemporary cuisine restaurant offers amazing food in a top-notch beachside setting. Guests can watch steaks sizzle (among other meals) in the open-plan kitchen. Also, plenty of wines and cocktails, and vegetables from their organic Westin Farm. Breakfast is generally not included in the rates, but an excellent buffet breakfast is also available for comparatively low rates.
The hotel offers some amazing amenities, and the gorgeous elongated pool parallels the beach and has a beautiful children’s area attached. The Fitness Center is a Fijian-style bure (bungalow) overlooking the pool with all the latest equipment. The award-winning Heavenly Spa by Westin is also simply serene and romantic, and offers a steam room, jacuzzi and hydrotherapy tub. There is a decent playground at the Westin, which also has the LaiLai Kids Club, with many activities for the young ones. Just over the road is the Big Bula Water Park, enjoyed by adults and children alike.
